This is yet another soccer blog and podcast. We focus on statistics, mostly as related to the US leagues (MLS, NASL, and USL-Pro), but will also address the major competitions teams from these league participate in (US Open Cup, CONCACAF Champions League). As the major European leagues get started, we will do a feature on them, and we'll keep up with them at least a little as their seasons progress.
Authors/Hosts
We have three authors/hosts, two of whom are supporters of their respective clubs that happen to be interested in soccer statistics of various sorts, and the third is a professional statistician.

I'm a part of the Timbers Army, the Portland Timbers' supporters group, but am still a rather new fan. I've moved around a couple times and was more of a passive soccer fan, watching whatever games I happened to catch on TV, until I moved to Portland in late 2009.
I have also long been fascinated with statistics, and in particular sports statistics, since there is a wealth of historical data there, and it provides a wealth of new data every season. I absolutely love messing around with algorithms and models to see how it affects the results, not always in the ways I expect.

Teucer
Five years ago, I had a Ghanaian co-worker who kept the World Cup on all the time. I watched with him some even though I thought I didn't like sports, because it would be antisocial not to. Somewhat to my surprise, I liked what I was seeing. I've since been converted into a hard-core soccer fan. I live in North Carolina and support the RailHawks, which I guess makes me our designated minor-league guy.
I started trying to do predictive statistics for second-division soccer last year, but began putting more effort into it this season when a free web game started promising fabulous prizes. The models I've come up with so far aren't even close to the end-all be-all of soccer stats, but they're working out decently well so far.

Aaron
Aaron started producing data for the English Premier League since 1992 and expanded his tabulating and formatting work to cover 60 of the top leagues in football. His own detailed football database includes exclusive team, player, goalkeeper, referee, and betting and general information. He now uses this material to create a variety of statistical projects in the hope of creating a "Moneyball" theory for Soccer.
